Jenn's feedback:
"Overall, your paper is very well-written, and with only a few minor changes, you will significantly improve it. You mention that your essay is supposed to be MLA formatted, and for the most part, you have done an excellent job. I recommend that you go through and make sure that your spacing is consistent, that all your paragraphs are indented, and that you consistently punctuate the work's title. A reader should be able to tell the purpose of a paper without reading the title. Often, the author accomplishes this by writing a clear and concise thesis statement, which, unfortunately, your writing seems to be lacking. To resolve this, include a sentence at the end of your introduction that lets the reader know what key points they will read in the body of the paper and why you are highlighting the points. Overall, the content of your essay is good. I do recommend that you make sure that you remove any language that suggests that you're offering an opinion or that is causal (e.g., really, totally, just) and that you make sure that you are analyzing the story rather than summarizing. Also, when writing your conclusion, try to word things differently than you did in the introduction and do not make them sound too similar. Last, overall, you did well with grammar, sentence, structure, and punctuation, but there are some places where you can work on these and where you have included wrong word choices (e.g., "they" instead of "the")."
