Bridget's feedback:
"Your engagement with the text shows your work with and interest in the story, creating ethos and helping the reader dive deeper into the human qualities of the poem. I find myself rather lost, however, regarding what "the statements" refers to across the essay, making the exact purpose of the essay hard to pin down. Does this refer to a prompt? If so, and even if your ultimate audience will know what the prompt is, it is best practice to reiterate the information to guide the reader's understanding by giving them all the tools they need to follow the argumentation and also to put it in your own words and assert control over the prompt.
That being said, your discussion is focused and purposeful, so the concepts themselves come through clearly. The body paragraphs have a tendency to wander around a bit within their structure: I would recommend addressing this by streamlining the writing itself. For example, consider this edit: "Yet Gawain's statement that he is now 'false' doesn't seem to be exactly the case: against the natural human instinct to survive, this sin seems rather small." This revision suggests fusing together two sentences and paring down the phrasing to keep things focused and moving. As you do this, see what phrases or ideas can be collapsed into a single point, as well as what can be trimmed."
