"You have an easily identifiable thesis statement, but your content doesn’t necessarily support your thesis. Instead of describing what happens in the narrative, consider focusing more on pulling pieces of evidence to further argue your point that O’Brien is courageous because of his fear of being a coward. Your paper would be more polished overall if you indented the first line of each paragraph by half an inch. The title of a chapter should be enclosed in quotation marks but not italicized while the title of a book should be italicized. In MLA style, block formatting is not needed unless a quote runs over four lines long. Block quotes should be indented by half an inch, and the citation for a block quote goes at the very end of the quote (after the last piece of punctuation). Although you use semicolons in a grammatical way, you have a tendency to overuse them. Semicolons should be used sparingly for best effect, meaning they should appear at most a few times in a short essay. Your quoted material should be check for accuracy since there’s a typo with the use of “id” instead of “I’d.”"
