"This is an interesting combination of analysis and personal narrative; the reader really feels a connection with the voice, showing a good rhetorical use of ethos. I'm curious if the film made you curious about the mothers' side--this would be a really interesting place to push the discussion.

I also want to check in with the last paragraph: the wording suggests you are describing a reality rather than the story and film. Is this correct? If so, consider looking into sources or similar so you can back up those general claims about both what things were like and what they are like now. If this is describing the world of the film, make that clear with signal phrases and signposting.
