"As you move into the next draft, I recommend a focus on clarity. You outline a number of good points in the first few pages, but the formatting of the quotations really disrupts the reader's experience, making it hard to follow the various ideas. Check your style guide and polish up the quotation presentation so the formatting aids readability. Do the same with the writing itself: check for errors (including missing words and typos) and work with the diction so you can maintain the conversational and personal engagement without sacrificing formality ("not a big fan" is a little too casual, for example). Striking the right balance will allow the text and the ethos to remain dynamic and strong.
In your opening, clarify the text(s) you are working with. I had some trouble following your final point about the Republic; perhaps explaining your approach to that text earlier will help solidify the concluding thoughts ("if someone had made up everything in [Plato's Republic]...")."
