To create a new drug policy from scratch we should look at many factors. There is the history of drugs relating to abuse and medical purposes. For thousands of years there have been people who have used and abused drugs, and groups that have tried to stop drug use. We should look at how other country’s drug policies and how it is improving their societies.

People will continue doing various forms of drugs, no matter the penalty or consequence. There was a time period when people would be executed for doing drugs in particular regions, but yet people continued doing drugs. Laws on preventing drug use have become obsolete. As rational people with the ability to use reason, we should deduct that if is a futile attempt to try to stop drug use. All laws that prevent the sale and consumption of drugs shall be abolished. The sale and consumption of drugs will be legal but highly regulated.

The following policies and regulation shall be a summary of what to become of American drug policy. These policies include what legal ramifications of committing a crime while on drugs and not staying inside the scope of the laws about to drug use. This policy will look into the public health and wellbeing aspect by districting the use of drugs. Each state would apply for a permit for a sanction free district or commonly known as a Red-Light District. The Red-Light District will be districts where victimless crimes shall be legal. Programs for prevention and treatment of drug abuse will remain to exist, but with more truth about drugs and less propaganda.

Laws on to the sale of drugs will channel through the Food and Drug Administration. The word drugs or recreational drugs will be used loosely and relating to but not limited to opiates, amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, MDMA, PCP and others.
