While you have a solid grasp of academic writing conventions overall, your handling of punctuation in relation to a closing quotation mark should be revisited. Commas and periods are placed before a closing quotation mark in American English while exclamation points and question marks can either be placed inside or outside a closing quotation mark depending on the situation. In the question, "What are 'the horrors'?" the question mark is placed outside the closing quotation mark for "the horrors" because the question mark applies to the entire statement, not just the phrase quoted from the text. A final edit should also be done to check for typos such as when you say "Kurt" instead of "Kurtz.""
