"You've done an excellent job analyzing how Lessing uses setting as symbol to develop Jerry's maturation over the story. You use the five-paragraph essay format well, guiding the reader through the discussion smoothly. Your argument is, across the paper, easy to follow. You have a good sense of voice, flow, and sentence structure. I suggest keeping an eye on word choice--words like "kid" and "guys" are pretty casual and don't feel appropriate for a literary analysis. My main recommendation is in the internal structure of each argument--as I said, the paragraphs are logically organized as part of the overall essay, but some of the discussion within the paragraphs ends up being repetitive. This is the case for some of the plot summary and the argumentative claims. I suggest reading within each paragraph and considering if phrasing can be trimmed or combined to create assertive and efficient claims that need only be presented once."
