Bridget's feedback:
"One strength of this essay is in how tone and diction contribute to a sense of balance and objectivity in the analysis. This helps create ethos, earning the reader's trust for the use of personal opinion toward the end. (Please note that I assume the repeated text under "Bibliography" is not part of the essay; make sure to clean this up so the reader isn't thrown for a loop.)
In terms of argumentation, you build your points logically within each topic, though I caution against relying on a single source in doing so, particularly on matters that have seen so much conversation over the years. As regards the paper's purpose, I struggled to find explicit language that defined how each of the two topics came together into a single thesis, unique to this paper. Unless this document represents two short responses, make sure you help the reader understand why you have approached the topics in a single discussion.
Finally, reading this essay after the end of NAFTA, I would like to brainstorm some approaches to updating the discussion: you could analyze the arguments on the page as the opinion of a moment in time, with a concluding section on what bore out, for example; alternatively, you might find another case study of free trade and protectionism. As regards globalization, this is an ongoing debate and could be updated with more current expression of the pros/cons, as well as more recent data."
