"This is a well-organized and efficient discussion of the pros and cons of taking a gap year. You move the reader effectively and smoothly across the advantages, disadvantages, your own opinion, and some recommendations for improving the experience. You do a really good job maintaining an objective, balanced tone, including during the opinion paragraph, thanks to sound and careful diction. This was overall a satisfactory approach that I think could be even more effective with the inclusion of sources. As you note, this is a controversial topic, and this will mean others are writing and studying it: you can enter that conversation by engaging with those sources. You might consider supplementing your discussion with figures (What percentage of students in a certain year take a gap year? How many work? Travel?), studies (Have there been studies on academic performance after a gap year?), and even source-based anecdotes. This will flesh out the discussion you currently have, allowing discussion points to become argumentation and solid claims."
