"Your paper has a clear purpose, and it is apparent that you have a clear understanding of the poem. You go into great detail about the points you are trying to make and use sufficient evidence from the text to support them. Overall, your paper is organized well, but it is lacking a strong introduction and a thesis statement. Your introduction should be a paragraph or so in length. It should include a brief description of the poem and end with a thesis statement--a statement that tells the reader the goal of the paper. Currently, you conclusion uses exact wording that is previously found in your paper. Normally, if you are trying to reiterate something, you want to use different wording. Having said this, if you resolve the issues with the introduction you have the opportunity to remove this idea from the introduction altogether since it is more appropriate for the conclusion. There are several instances in which the transitions between sentences are awkward. While the essay is neatly written, there are times in which it is not properly MLA formatted. The area where your name is should be doubled spaced and Works Cited should be centered, just to name a couple of style issues. There are areas where your essay is harder to read because of grammar and punctuation issues. There are places where periods are missing at the ends of sentences, words that should be capitalized aren't, and word choice and order is incorrect or confusing."
