Bridget's feedback:
"You bring to the table a lot of information, talking points, and sources. A huge part of the writing process is getting that all down on the page, and you've done so, organizing your main ideas and arguments into clear body paragraphs. There are a few areas that need attention in this draft.
First, I suggest reviewing your language and argumentation for precision; for example, your paragraph about demand being related to the desire to "go green" suggests a discussion about consumers (do people want to go green? will they spend money to go green?); however, the paragraph itself is about climate change (a scientific discussion rather than a discussion about buying power). This suggests either the topic sentence should be changed or the body of the paragraph pitched more directly toward the promised topic.
Second, there are enough typos or mechanics errors (word choice, incomplete sentence/sentence boundary issues) to impact clarity and ethos; a careful proofread should catch those. Third, this paper was marked as MLA but currently uses APA-style author-date citations; you will want to double-check which style guide you are being asked to use and then ensure the paper follows it. In the Works Cited (which MLA uses), many of the sources are missing authors, so it becomes very difficult to match a citation (using the author's last name) with the source itself. As you head into a final product, make sure your citations help direct your reader to the Works Cited (MLA) or References (APA). Finally, your counterargument (Paine) is a relatively old source (for this subject)--does this 2006 source still represent the opposition?"
